Fried chicken is the speciality of the American fast food restaurant company KFC Corporation, doing business as KFC and sometimes referred to by its former name, Kentucky Fried Chicken. With nearly 30,000 outlets worldwide in 150 countries as of April 2024, it is the second-largest restaurant chain in the world by sales, behind McDonald’s.
Colonel Harland Sanders (1890–1980), a businessman who started selling fried chicken from his roadside eatery in Corbin, Kentucky, during the Great Depression, was the man behind KFC. One of the first American fast-food businesses to go global was KFC, which by the middle of the 1960s had locations in Jamaica, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Mexico.
Certainly! Let’s look at the fascinating history of the KFC Logo🌟
1954-1959

The entire name of the chain is written in a handwritten font style with brush strokes at the ends. All of the letters “C” in the inscription are italicised to give it personality and distinction. Four freshly emerged chicks from their eggs complete the logo. Next to each capital letter, they are placed.
1959-1978

The Kentucky Fried Chicken wordmark was hand-drawn in a typeface with the initial three letters “K,” “F,” and “C” enlarged in this 1959 KFC logo.
The Colonel Sanders picture that serves as the KFC logo is positioned to the right of the wordmark.
1978-1991

The logo was positioned on the left side of the wordmark on the initial 1978 redesign, which used larger writing and was now written on three floors. The lengthened tail of the “K” is the primary element of the modernised typeface.
1991-1997

During this time, the owner altered the name, formally abandoning the shortened form. There were two causes behind this. First, there was no need for a thorough decryption because the fast-food spot was identifiable. Second, because it’s short-term, it fits more neatly into the pricey advertising space. The trademark colour palette, which was consistently used in the design, was the primary component of that particular year’s badge. It combines the hues of red, black, and white.
A new element to KFC’s visual identity debuted in 1997: a “photograph” of the chain’s owner. The colonel is portrayed accurately, with a pastel-like colour scheme of blue and white for his image. The background of the square emblem is solid red.
1997-2006

The company Landon Associates is responsible for creating this era’s logo. At the end of the time, it is replaced with a stylized pencil image of Colonel Sanders, including a round emblem and a friendly smile on his face. The acronym “KFC” is positioned to the left of the main image, just above the shoulder, and the formal jacket is swapped out for an apron with three vertical stripes.
2006–2018

The exquisite image of the colonel dressed in an apron rather than a tuxedo featured in the dark red circle was still relevant in 2006. Still, a formal substitute was being planned concurrently.
2014–2018

All of the recognisable components were included in the 2014 KFC logo, although they were done in a monochromatic style with a few extra accents. Without any framing or solid background, the portrait was positioned above the KFC wordmark in a bold black serif script.
2018–Present

2018 saw the most recent update of the KFC logo. The developers enhanced the image and gave the emblem a trapezoidal shape. The face and three broad vertical stripes are now surrounded by a black contour on the previously red and white background. The white central stripe is where the graphic sign is positioned. The italicised version of the acronym KFC is highlighted. The logo’s trapezoidal shape gives it a resemblance to glass, which is a prominent feature of the fast-food chain’s restaurants and conjures up images of warmth and friendliness.
